Waimea’s Ashley Vidinha and Kapa’a’s Ingrid Nakamura were chosen by the Kaua’i
Interscholastic Federation as soccer Players of the Year.
Vidinha, a
four-year starter at fullback, helped lead the Menehune boys team into a
three-way KIF playoff.
Nakamura, a forward, helped the Warrior girls to the
KIF title.
Six players from the KIF boys champion Kaua’i High Red Raiders
were chosen as All-Stars — Cole Brandeburg, Kyle Kagimoto, Kesson Yamamoto,
Sean Kosen, Matthew Fujikawa and Ryan Rolland.
Six Warrior girls, including
Nakamura, were chosen as All-Stars. The other Kapa’a selections were Maja
Marti, Mytra DiLeonardo, Maureen Lydon, Kehaunani Holden and Tiana
Laranio.
The Coach of the Year selections were Louis Abrams Sr. of Kaua’i
High and Althea Arinaga of Kapa’a.
