PO’IPU – A new organization, The Southshore Property Owners And Residents
Association of Kaua’i (SPARK), will hold its first community meeting on
Wednesday evening.
SPARK membership is open to all who own property or
reside in the South Shore, which includes Koloa, Po’ipu, ‘Oma’o, Lawa’i, and
Kalaheo. There are no dues.
“The intent and purpose of the organization is
to truly represent the views of the property owners and residents of the South
Shore of Kaua’i in matters that relate to our area,” a spokesman for the
organization said in a press release.
“These matters include but are not
limited to zoning, real estate development projects, road construction and
maintenance, safety, education, and all matters pertaining to the well being of
the community. At all times we shall act with regard to the history and
heritage of our island.”
SPARK will be modeled as a town meeting, and if a
position is adopted, the view will be democratically and publicly represented
in a prudent and effective manner, organizers said.
SPARK will hold its
first membership meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Koloa
Union Church.
