HANALEI — Alistar “Al” Paterson, who has sold Kaua’i properties to Hollywood
types like author Michael Crichton and producer John Wells, recently joined
Country Brokers here, announced founders and owners Scott Lindman and Brian
Kennelly.
Paterson is heading a new Country Estates division of the firm,
the owners said.
Lindman considers it a “coup” to have Paterson join the
firm. Paterson is known around the island for his presence on the Bali Hai
Television show, which he produced in conjunction with Video Juice
Productions.
Paterson worked for Bali Hai Realty for 12 years, where he was
executive vice president responsible for all of their advertising and marketing
promotions.
With sales of over $30 million in the past two years, he is
considered one of the most successful agents in Hawai’i.
An active member
of the Kaua’i Board of Realtors and a past recipient of the Board’s Realtor
Associate of the Year award, Paterson for the past several years has chaired
the Professional Standards and Arbitration Committee of the Board, and is the
current president of the ‘Anini Vistas Homeowners Association.
He is also a
speaker and writer of note. In 1990, he was selected to represent Hawai’i in
the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking. His article, “‘Iniki —
The Experience,” won a national editorial award.
“Al’s marketing and
promotional experience, coupled with his reputation in the market place, will
be a very positive addition to our company and to our ability to service our
clients in the most professional manner possible,” Lindman said.
“Al and I
have a friendship that goes back over 30 years, starting when we were roommates
in France. We already have several exciting new projects on the drawing boards,
and I have no doubt that with his guidance our new estates division will prove
to be an immediate success.”

during the time I was there,” Paterson said.

terms and conditions, was extremely appealing, and I’m looking forward to a
long and mutually beneficial relationship with Scott and Brian.
