She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Fernandes; a daughter, Desiree Fernandes McKenzie of Mililani, O’ahu; four sons, Gilbert Fernandes Jr. of Mililani, Frank (Janel) Fernandes of Kapa’a; Guy Fernandes and Kirk Fernandes, both of Waipahu; seven grandchildren; one brother, John K. Teves of Pukalani, Maui; and four sisters, Violet Medeiros of Waianae, O’ahu, Agnes Medeiros of Kapa’a, Edna Lopes of Honolulu and Virginia Audrey Quick of Indiana.
Visitation and prayer service will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at St. Anthony’s Church in Wailuku, Maui. Visitation on Kaua’i will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Ida KimokeoIda Napua Kimokeo
Ida KimokeoIda Napua Kimokeo of Anahola died Jan. 17, 2000, at Queens Medical Center on O’ahu at the age of 83. Born on Nov. 24, 1916, in Kawa’aloa, Kona, Hawai’i Island, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband James “Jimmy” Kimokeo of Anahola; one daughter: Ululani Kealoha of Kaua’i; one son: Kimo (Deborah) Kimokeo, of California; three sisters: Adeline Byrd, of Missippippi, Martha Kaneao, of O’ahu, and Maryanne Lerma of Honomu; one brother: Sonny Moses, of O’ahu, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, Jan. 23, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, from 6-9 p.m., with services at 8 p.m., and again on Monday, Jan. 24, at Kalaheo Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, from 9-10:45 a.m., with services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery. Casual or aloha attire is suggested. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.

William Nordmeier
William Olaus Nordmeier died Jan. 11, 2000, in Miami, Florida. Born and raised in Kekaha, he served 28 1/2 years in the U.S. Army with tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam and other duty stations. He spent his remaining years in Miami.
He is survived by brothers Julius (Beatrice) Nordmeier of Kekaha, Eric (Bernice) Nordmeier, Hanapepe and sisters Christina (Albert) Chong, Waipahu, Oahu, Henrietta Palai, Kekaha, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Robert Greaver Funeral Home, Hallandale, Fla. Private services were held in North Miami, Florida.
