READY TO CRUISE is the Spirit of Kaua’i, a 55-foot catamaran that Captain
Andy’s Sailing Adventures operates out of Kukui’ula Small Boat Harbor. The
craft, which holds 49 people, offers snorkel picnic tours from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. seven days a week, and two-hour sunset cocktail cruises four afternoons a
week (now 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with times varying during the year depending
on time of sunset). The Spirit of Kaua’i is around nine years old. A newer,
larger sailboat is operated out of Port Allen Small Boat Harbor by the company.
While a company spokesman said the island is slow now in terms of numbers of
visitors, charters are keeping the Spirit of Kaua’i busy lately. Call 335-6833
for reservations and more information.
