Basketball League (games played Sunday, Jan. 7 at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center):
Game 1 – Ricky Oyama scored a game-high 31 points as Kimana defeated
Extreme 86-65. Dioni Ruiz scored 21 to lead Extreme. Kimana improved to 1-2 on
the season; Extreme fell to 0-3.
Game 2 – Lizard Lounge got a 31-point
effort from Art Hernandez to defeat Kuhio Motors 89-63. Chuck Reichle scored 20
for Kuhio. The win ups Lizard’s record to 2-1; Kuhio falls to 1-1.
Game 3 –
In the evening’s thriller, the Red Dirt Boys held off a rallying Rob’s
Goodtime, 77-76. Nash Albert led Red Dirt with 26 points. Dustin Gummerus
dropped in 20 for Rob’s. Red Dirst improved to 2-1 with the win; Rob’s fell to
2-1.
Game 4 – Matais cruised by Navy, 110-55, in the nightcap. Tony Brun
led Matais with 29 points. Eric Walker paced Navy with 18. Matais improved to
3-0 on the season; Navy fell to 0-3.
