Teachers, parents and those interested in attending are invited to a workshop
and lecture sponsored by Na Kamalei School.
The events are being held in
conjunction with a grant from the State Foundation on Culture and the
Arts.
“Mandalas, Tattoos and Mazes – The Universal Language of Art” will
be presented on Friday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. The lecture will include slides of
images and forms from around the world.
The second event is “Form Drawing,”
a hands-on workshop for discovering the archetypal forms of the past. The
workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Both
events will be presented by Van James, an Artist in Schools Teacher at the
Honolulu Waldorf School and the former Committee Chair of the Hawaii Alliance
for Arts Education.
The free events will be held at Na Kamalei School in
Kilauea.
