Richard James Correa, of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died at Queen’s Medical Center on Dec. 22, 1999, at the age of 68. Born in Koloa, Kaua’i on Sept. 30, 1931, he was a retired Systems Manager with Pacific Missile Range Facility and also the manager for Ernie’s Repair.
He is survived by: his wife: Betty Correa of Kalaheo, Kauai; two sons: Keith (Leanne) Correa of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, Robin (Melinda) Correa of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; one daughter: Teresa (Roland) Jacinto of Puhi, Kaua’i; one daughter-in-law: Carol Correa of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; eight grandchildren; two brothers: Jerry (Maxine) Correa of Kalaheo, Kaua’i and John Correa of Kaneohe, O’ahu; one sister: Rosemarie Lopez of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church; Mass officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 4 p.m. Followed by burial at the Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Helen Perreira
Helen Souza Perreira of Kalaheo died Dec. 27,1999, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. A homemaker, she was born May 28, 1916, on O’ahu.
She is survived by two daughters: Diane Medeiros of Kalaheo and Muriel Perreira of Maui; three sons: Joseph (Agnes) Perreira of Kalaheo, Frank (Charlotte) Perreira of O’ahu and Bernard (Cecilia) Perreira of Kalaheo; one sister: Ethel Souza of California; one brother: Eddie Miranda of California; 19 grandchildren, 27 great—grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nephews, grand nieces, great grand nieces, and great grand nephews, and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 3, Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo from 9 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary
Roy Oshima
Roy “Diff” Hidemi Oshima, of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 25, 1999, at the age of 62. Born in Puhi, Kauai on Aug. 31, 1937, he was the owner/operator of Lawai Restaurant.
He is survived by: his wife: Myrna of Hanamaulu, Kauai; two daughters: Alison Oshima of Honolulu, Oahu and Doreen Buza of Lawai, Kauai; four grandsons: Edwin Corrales, Corey Corrales, Brandon Buza, Matthew Buza, all of Lawai, Kauai; one granddaughter: Randi Buza of Lawai, Kauai; seven brothers: Stanley Oshima of Eleele, Kauai, Thomas (Flora) Oshima of Kaneohe, Oahu, William (Janet) Oshima of San Jose, Calif., Paul (Evelyn) Oshima of Kaneohe, Oahu, Arthur (Nadine) Oshima of Lihue, Kauai, and Edwin (Janet) Kamioka of Lihue, Kauai ; grandmother: Sachiko Yoshimoto of Lawai, Kauai, and mother-in-law: Sumiyo Matoba of Hanapepe, Kauai; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Lihue Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by Rev. Yukiko Motoyoshi will begin at 4:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Riyozo “Goofy” Honma of Eleele, Kauai died at home on Dec. 26, 1999, at the age of 74. Born in Makaweli, Kauai on Oct. 9, 1925, he was a retired Welder with Olokele Sugar Co..
He is survived by: his wife: Kazue Honma of Eleele, Kauai, one son: Eric (Bonnie) Honma of Eleele, Kauai; two grandchildren: Taryn & David Honma of Eleele, Kauai, three brothers: Yookichi (Ayako) Honma of Kaumakani, Kauai, Hiroshi (Sadie) Honma of Kailua, Oahu, Alan (Ruth) Honma of Pearl City, Oahu; two sisters: Grace (Howard) Date, Sr. of Waimea, Kauai and Rin Sakoda of Kalaheo, Kauai; one sister-in-law: Sueno Honma of Lawai Valley, Kauai; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Kauai Soto Zen Temple; service officiated by Rev. Itagaki will begin at 11 a.m. Interment at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
