Jose Samiano, Sr. of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 10, 1999, at the age of 84. Born in Bangi Ilocos Norte, PI., on April 13, 1915, he was a retired X-Ray Technician with Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife: Salud Samiano of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i; five sons: Jose (Virginia) Samiano, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Dante Samiano of Los Angeles, Calif., Marcial (Emily) Samiano of Los Angeles, Rudy (Katherine) Samiano of Wailua Homesteads, Kaua’i, and Melvin (Connie) Samiano of Torrance, Calif., two daughters: Carmen (Richard) Ubasa of Honolulu, Oahuand Evelyn (Marcelino) Taroc of Wailua Hmstds, Kauai; one hanai-daughter: Cecilia Ramirez of Los Angeles, Calif., 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; rosary to begin at 6 p.m. Friends may again visit at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, mass officiated by Father Paul will begin at 12 noon. Followed by burial at the Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Charles Kealiimoewai Chang, of Kalaheo, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 8, 1999, at the age of 53. Born in Honolulu, Oahu on Nov. 22, 1946, he was the proprietor of Kukuiolono Snack Shop.
He is survived by: his wife: Mary Jane Chang of Kalaheo, Kauai; one son: Kaupili Chang of Honolulu, Oahu; four daughters: Barbie (Ricky) Brun, Laure Chang, Cheri (Clifford) Matsusaka, all of Kalaheo, Kauai, and Wendy Chang; seven grandchildren; father: Albert Chang of Honolulu, Oahu; mother: Helen (Kenneth) Howell of Honolulu, Oahu; brother: Hayward Chang of Honolulu, Oahu; two sisters: Cecilia (George) Silva of Hilo, Hawaii; Julita Chang of Honolulu, Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; mass officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 10 a.m. Followed by burial at the Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park. Aloha attire is suggested.
