He is survived by: his wife: Elsie “Rosemary” Woodyard of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai; three daughters: Leila (Rudy) Yoingco of Rizal Philippines, Cristy (Boni) Olchandra of Tamuning, Guam, and Divina (Arvin) Cubacub of Dededo, Guam; four grandchildren: one sister: Lucy (Rene) Bermoy of Paranaque, Philippines; numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice Kuroiwa-Scharsch
Alice Y.O. Kuroiwa-Scharsch, of Puhi, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 3, 1999, at the age of 77. Born in Huleia, Kauai on of Feb. 15, 1922, she was a retired Nutritionist with the State of Hawaii.
She is survived by: four sons: James (Pat) Kuroiwa, Jr. of Honolulu, Oahu, Anthony (Linda) Kuroiwa of Honolulu, Oahu, Bert (Joyce) Kuroiwa of Long Beach, Calif., and Paul Kuroiwa of Lihue, Kauai; two daughters: May Kuroiwa of New Jersey and Allison (Daniel) Forburger of Honolulu, Oahu; one step-daughter: Charlene (Jerry) Punahele of Honolulu, Oahu; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers: James (Yaye) Ohashi of Honolulu, Oahu and Eddie (Mae) Ohashi of Honolulu, Oahu; three sisters: Mildred Ota of Honolulu, Oahu, Eva (Gerald) Uyeno of Chicago, Illinois, and Ethel (Isami) Nanbu of Honolulu, Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, at the Lihue Christian Church. Memorial service officiated by Rev. Kevin Page will begin at 5:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Raymond A. Lopez
Raymond A. Lopez, of Kalaheo, Kauai, died at Kauai Care Center on Dec. 4, 1999, at the age of 82. Born in Lawai, Kauai on Sept. 16, 1917, he was a retired Tractor Mower Operator with the County of Kauai.
He is survived by: his wife: Virginia Lopez of Kalaheo, one son: Wayne (Sharon) Lopez of Kalaheo; three daughters: Karen (Steven) Suarez, Lucille Lopez, and Vicky Soares, all of Kalaheo; one grandchild; one sister: Doris Sachs of Honolulu, Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; service officiated by Father Chris Keahi will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at the Holy Cross Catholic Church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Ceferino P. Almondia, of Kekaha, Kauai, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Dec. 5, 1999 at the age of 91. Born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on Aug. 24, 1908, he was a retired Truck Driver with Kekaha Sugar Co.
He is survived by: his wife: Mercedes Galapon Almondia of Kekaha; one son: Tony (Joyce) Almondia of Torrance, Calif., six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with family at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Kekaha Methodist Church; service officiated by Pastora Flora Obayashi will begin at 10 a.m. Followed by burial at the Kekaha Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
