Patrick “Bruzo” Ornellas of Wailua died Dec. 2, 1999, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 65. A retired sergeant with the Kaua’i Police Department, he was born April 26, 1934, in Kapaa.
He is survived by two sons: Jason Ornellas of Kalhaeo and Kevin Ornellas of Wailua; seven sisters: Regina Ventura of Kapahi, Pauline (John B.) Fernandes of Wailua, Theresa (Jacob) Martins of Kapahi, Julie (Stanley) Souza of Kapahi, Eva, Mary, and Sister Katherine; one grandson: Jarrick Ornellas and one granddaughter: Kamaile Ornellas; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and ex-wife Ethel Ornellas.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 9, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church from 9 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow with a private inurnment at a later date. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
