Arcenia Ines Asuncion of Kapaa died Dec. 1, 1999, at Long Beach Hospital, Calif., at the age of 81. A homemaker, she was born Oct. 8, 1918, in the Philippines.
She is survived by seven daughters: Teresa Yago of Hanama’ulu, Violeta (Ricky) Guzman of Kekaha, Virgilia (Rodolfo) Bautista of California, Elma (Manuel) Guzman, Arelia (Orlino) Galinato, both of the Philippines, Nally (Ely) Garcia of Kapa’a, Ghene (Joren) Garcia of California; two sons: Jimmy (Marina) Asuncion and Valeriano (Rosita) Asuncion, both of the Philippines; one sister: Josefina Salvosa; 32 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m. Services will be held again on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihue Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
