Shizue Koga of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 26, 1999, at the age of 91. She was born in Hakalau, Hawaii, on June 15, 1908.
Mrs. Koga is survived by: two sons: George (Yaeko) Koga and Robert (Yvonne) Koga, both of California; three daughters: Margaret (Yoshitaka) Makishi of Eleele, Kauai, Florence (Robert) Tamura of Lihue, Kauai, and Mabel (Kenneth) Konishi of Wailua, Kauai; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Misao Hirayama of Hilo, Hawaii and Sue Tanimura of Oahu; numeorus nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in ‘Ele’ele. Service officiated by Father Frank Cowell, will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

Sueko Muraoka
Sueko Muraoka, of Lihu’e, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 26, 1999, at the age of 84. A registered nurse and retired small business owner and operator, she was born in Kealia, Kauai on Nov. 13, Nov. 1915.
She is survived by: one daughter: Sandra Labuguen of Lihue, Kauai; three grandchildren; one sister: Shizue Watamura of Honolulu, Oahu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Lihue Christian Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Kevin Page. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

Bernardo Castaneda
Bernardo Bobila Castaneda of Lihu’e died Nov. 18, 1999, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. A practical nurse at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, he was born May 14, 1911, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Caridad Trinidad Castaneda of Lihue; one daughter: Ely (Alfonso) Afos of Lihue; four sisters: Fidela (Demetrio) Borlas, Conception (Resurreccion) Astudillo, and Rufina (Catalino) Ramos, all of the Philippines, and Magdalena (Beato) Trinidad of Kalaheo; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Friday, Dec 3, at Lihue United Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Lihue United Church from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.

Jacqueline Marliave
Jacqueline Ramsay Marliave of Lihue died Nov. 24, 1999, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. A homemaker, she was born Dec. 11, 1913, in California.
She is survived by one daughter: Jacqueline Mitchell of O’ahu, one son: Barry W. Marliave of O’ahu; one brother: Gerald Ramsay of California; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services have been scheduled for Thursday Dec. 9, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel, with visitation at 5:30 p.m. and services to start at 6 p.m. Casual attire is suggested. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Elmer Marliave Scholarship Fund to Engineering Geology Foundation, c/o Association of Engineering Geologists, Dept. of Geology, Texas A & M College, Station, Texas, 77843-3115.
