ZARAUTZ — With inconsistent two-foot waves not allowing any competition today, officials were forced to call the first day of the ASP World Qualifying Series 5-Star event off and wait until Wednesday to get things underway, states an ASP press release.
Surf forecasts are showing a new swell supposed to start coming in Wednesday that should give some big surf by the end of the week, peaking at three meters between Thursday and Friday.
With 144 men ready to rumble and keep their ASP WQS campaigns alive after three consecutive major events in Europe where Australia’s Daniel Ross, France’s Joan Duru and Brazil’s William Cardoso took top honours, many of the event’s favorites and outsiders will try and get their share of success this week.
The ASP WQS 5-Star San Miguel Pro Zarautz is live on the web at www.aspeurope.com.
