Menehune athletes recognized

Waimea High School senior Melia Takakusagi is the sole female selected in the state of Hawaii to receive the Hawaii Interscholastic Athletic Directors Association and the Hawaii Union Builders, and the NIAAA Section 7 National Scholarship Essay award.

Kapaa’s Agoot named Player of the Year

As voted by the coaches, this year’s Kauai Interscholastic Federation boys volleyball all stars have been chosen. Seven student-athletes were named in the all star list — three from Kapaa and two from both Kauai High and Waimea.

Swim Kauai Aquatics athletes feted

They come from each of the three public high schools on Kauai. They are all valedictorians for their respective schools with GPAs of 4.0, or higher. And they swim for Swim Kauai Aquatics.
