HANAKAPIAI — Two hikers were rescued Sunday from Hanakapiai after falling on two separate trails along the Na Pali Coast.

The first incident happened about 2 p.m. when a 61-year-old visitor from Minnesota fell about half-a-mile from the Kalalau trailhead and injured her forearm.

Firefighters from the Hanalei station hiked in to assist the injured hiker, carrying her to the trailhead and transporting her to Wilcox Hospital.

The second incident happened about an hour-and-a-half later when emergency dispatchers received a call about an injured hiker near Hanakapiai Falls. Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 flew to Hanakapiai Valley  after receiving the call.

The condition of the second injured hiker was not available as TGI went to press.
