Salvador Peralta Jr.

Salvador Peralta Jr. of Brydeswood, Kalaheo, passed away on March 4, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 59. Born on April 10, 1953, in Lihue, Kauai, he was a Plant Operator/Lead Truck driver with Aloha Petroleum, Ltd. in Nawiliwili.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann Peralta; sons, Sheldon Troy (Kristyn Ishibashi) Peralta of Lihue; Brandon Lee (Sharleen) Peralta of Kekaha; Gavin Lance (Cheryl Monis) Peralta of Kalaheo, Joshua Michael (Christyann) Peralta of Omao, and Hanai son, Bruce Kanoho of Eleele; eight grandchildren, Tyralyn Peralta, Shandon, Shayden, Kaylieann, Xaedan, Jaemryn, Brandon and Braxton Simpliciano; mother, Felomina Villanida; brothers, John S. Peralta of Las Vegas, Bernard (Corrine) Peralta of Kalaheo, Ronnie Peralta of Kekaha, Ferdinand Peralta of Washington, and Willard G. (Susanna) Peralta of Maui; and sisters, Gwenie Luii of Washington, and Bernadette Devitt of Wailua.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, with viewing from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, and Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Domingo Laranio

Domingo Don Laranio of Kapaa passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on February 17, 2013, at the age of 88. He was born in Kapaa on January 4, 1925, and retired as a tour bus driver with Gray Line Tours. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Laranio; daughters, April and Hazel Rellin; brothers, Bacillio Dick Laranio, Francisco Cisco Omaya; sisters, Helen Mandrial and Mary Rasay.

He is survived by nine children, Martha (Dennis) Kaminski, Dolores (William) Barry, Annie Rellin, Sheila (Ralph) Schmarje, Timothy Laranio, Wayne (Leilani) Laranio, Carmela Cabacungan, Novella (Lawrence) Natividad, Domingo (Cassie) Laranio; numerous step-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion with visitation services beginning at 1:30 p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m.

Alberto Cabeza Espanol

Alberto Cabeza Espanol of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on February 27, 2013, at the age of 73. He was born in Sindangan Zambuanga, Del Norte, Philippines on November 20, 1039 and was employed by Safeway Store in Kapaa as a grocery bagger.

He is survived by his wife, Conrada Espanol of Kapaa; two sons, John (Judy) Espanol of Texas, Romulo Espanol of the Philippines; two daughters, Darlene Antonio and Ferdinita Caraballe of the Philippines; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held in the Philippines.

Felipa Butac Aguinaldo

Felipa “Nana Ipa” Butac Aguinaldo of Kilauea, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on February 19, 2013 at her residence in Kilauea at the age of 87. She was born on March 10, 1925 in Lanao Bangui Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was a housewife.

She is preceded in death by: parents, Alejandro Soriano Butac & Damiana Butac); husband, Filemon Aguinaldo.

She is survived by: sons: Pastor (Naty) Aguinaldo; Ernesto (Belen) Aguinaldo; Wilson (Hermina) Aguinaldo; Landrino (Lily) Aguinaldo; Weslie (Lilibeth) Aguinaldo; daughters, Glorina Aguinaldo; Rosnelie (Casimiro) Rumbaoa; Lucrecia (Jerold) Sagucio; Nora Montero; Marlene (Danny) Jarquio; Rowena Aguinaldo; sisters, Candelaria Galo; Cornelia Sagucio; 35 grandchildren & 22 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday March 15, 2013 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel, Koloa, and visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday March 16, 2013 at St Sylvester’s Catholic Church, Kilauea from 8:00am to 9:45am with mass to follow.  Burial to follow at St Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Peter Kawanana Kali, Sr.

Peter Kawanana Kali, Sr. of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on March 6, 2013, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 63.  Born on Kauai on March 15, 1949, he was employed by the State of Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Christina Kali; brothers, Samuel, Albert, John, Alexander, Lot, and Patrick Kali; and sister, Olga Holi.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta Jardin Kali; daughter, Clarice Kaleolani Kali; son, Peter “PK” Kali; sisters, Christina Kali, Hyacinth Miller, Gladys Tawata, Carol Edwards, and Emma DeCosta; brothers, Henry and Anthony Kali; grandson, Kalen Kamalanikaumaka Kakutani; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel, Koloa, with visitation at 9 a.m. and services at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary, Koloa, Kauai.

Alfred Ramones

Alfred “Freddie” Ramones of Wailua Homesteads passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 5, 2013, at the age of 94. He was born in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on November 14, 1918 and retired as House Keeping Supervisor at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his son, Clayton Ramones and parents Florecendo and Felomina Agbayani.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Ramones; son Richard (Karen) Ramones of Kapaa; daughter Valerie (Tom) Blair of Kansas; sister Flordelisa (Shano) Longboy of Waianae, Oahu; daughter-in-law, Kim Ramones; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Arsenio Arreola Dolar

Arsenio Arreola Dolor of Puhi passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital March 8, 2013, at the age of 91.  He was born in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on September 17, 1921, and retired from Coco Palms Hotel as grounds maintenance personal.

He is survived by his wife, Marta Segismundo Dolor; children, Clarita (Luis-deceased) Moises of Puhi, Teresita (Dominador) Tarape of Guam, Norma (Florentino) Villanueva of California, Emilia (Danilo) Guzman of Lihue, Generosa (Ernesto) Cantoria of California, Dante (Belinda) Dolor of Kapaa, Elsie (Ramirez) Dolor of Hanamaulu, Gilbert Dolor of Puhi; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Michael James Dwyer

Michael James Dwyer of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii formerly of Delmar, New York passed away at his residence in Kapaa on March 6, 2013 at the age of 49. He was born on February 20, 1964 in Albany, New York. He was a UPS driver in the state of New York.

Survived by: wife, Helen Dwyer, Kapaa; daughters, Tabitha (Marlondo McDonald) Dwyer, New York; Alexis Dwyer, Kapaa; sons, Michael Dwyer Jr., Kapaa; Tanner Dwyer, Kapaa; Matthew Dwyer, Kapaa; parents, Michael & Gail Dwyer, New York; brothers, John (Kathy) Dwyer, New York; Christopher Dwyer, New York; James Dwyer, New York; Terence (Ann Marie) Dwyer, New York; Thomas (Heather) Dwyer, New York; Timothy (Loret) Dwyer, New York; sister, Tracy (Ray) Wheeler, New York ; one grandchild; Numerous Aunties & Uncles & nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Celebration of life at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church, Kapaa, Thursday March 14, 2013 visitation at 8:30 a.m., mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Burial at a later date in New York.  Family suggests casual attire.

Mary Luise Dickson

Mary Luise Dickson of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on February 25, 2013 at Garden Isle Health Care.  She was born October 8, 1922 in Texas.  She was a retired teacher.

She is preceded in death by: husband, Carl Dickson.

She is survived by: son, Bowen Dickson, Washington; daughter, Lucy (J.C.  Crouch) Dickson, Kapaa; 2 grandchildren.

 A private Memorial Service to be held San Diego, California.  Family request flowers are omitted.  Donations can be made to Kauai Hospice

Clara Haruko Oyama Nagata

Clara Haruko Oyama Nagata of Kalaheo, Kauai, passed away on January 28, 2013 at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital at the age of 96. Born on February 3, 1916 in Wahiawa, Kauai, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hideo Nagata; four brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her son, Daniel H. Nagata of Kauai and Francis M. (Betty) Nagata of Waipahu; daughter, Karen S. Perez of Kauai; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Kauai Soto Zen Temple in Hanapepe, with visitation from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and service at 5:00 pm.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
