KAPA‘A — Sean Michael Shigematsu was in the locker room with the rest of the Kapa‘a Warrior football team, Friday night.

But he was escorting Jodi Das, the Kapa‘a homecoming queen, Saturday morning at the annual Veterans Day parade through Kapa‘a town. Shigematsu was named as the Warriors’ homecoming king during the week-long celebration at Kapa‘a High School.

During the Friday night homecoming celebration, parading in the obvious absence of the Warrior band, Das was escorted by Sam Matola as Shigematsu battled the Menehune with his fellow Warriors.

The daughter of John and Carrie Das was joined by other members of the Kapa‘a homecoming court including Hilary Leasiolagi being graced by the Miss Warrior sash and Tori Tuttle carrying the Miss Touchdown title.

Kasa Pohiva donned a formal gown instead of her normal athletic wear as Miss Victory and Shalyn Tupou was named Miss Spirit.

Class representatives included Kehaulani Relacion for the freshmen, Ta’ashi Napoleon for the sophomores, Pristine Fejeder for the juniors and Lahela Creamer for the seniors.

Escorts for the homecoming royalty included Kawelo Lyndsey, Jordan Planas, Kekoa Kolipano, Jefferson Harper, Sean Mamaclay, Jackson Koorenhof and Matola.
