Local 630 elects executive board
Peter T. Iriarte has been elected business manager/financial secretary-treasurer of the Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association, Local 630, and Eleele resident Dean Kelekoma has been elected a trustee, the union announced.
“Neighbor Island input is important to our vision for Local 630,” said Iriarte, whose entire slate of executive board candidates ran unopposed in the recent election. “We believe in inclusiveness, and I look forward to hearing from Dean and our members on Kauai as we move our organization forward.”
Kelekoma has 16 years of experience as a plasterer and union member. Other new executive board officers include: Rudy Domogsac, president; Keith Napoleon, vice president; John Gervacio, recording secretary; El-John Wong, sergeant-at-arms; Guy Toafili, Oahu trustee; Charles Becerra, Big Island trustee; and John Baldovi, Maui trustee.
Founded in 1956, Local 630 trains and certifies plasterers and cement finishers to work in the building and construction industry throughout the state. The union also negotiates labor agreements with industry contractors on behalf of its more than 1,000 members.
