Easy Kau Yuk

Oh how we love Kau Yuk!  We tell ourselves not to order it cuz it’s soooo fatty….but we do. Then we tell ourselves… “ok den, but I not going eat da fat”……then we tell ourselves… “oh, what da heck”….and we pound that fatty goodness right down. Den when all the kau yuk and rice is gone…we ask ourselves, “why did I do that???” …but was sooooo ONO!

Start off with 2 chunks of belly pork….about 2#. Cut each chunk in 1/2 and place in a slow cooker, fat side up. Salt & pepper the fat side and slow cook on low setting. Cook for about 6 hrs. Cut the cooked pork into 1 inch chunks and add to liquid, 1 – 7oz. bottle midpac char sui marinade and 1 tsp. Chinese allspice. Cook for another hour, then cool before refrigerating.  Remove all the fat that has firmed and turned opaque. Reheat and serve over rice…garnish with diced green onions.

So, let's get cookin'!
