Jessie Bonachita was recently honored as Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i, Inc.’s Employee of the Quarter. Selected by fellow staff, they describe Jessie as the “Office Wizard,” always having a positive attitude and is willing to help everyone. Jessie truly demonstrates the “Aloha Spirit” with her warm, friendly manner and her willingness to tackle any issue. Her creative mind easily solves presenting problems, finds answers to numerous staff questions and beautifully transforms the office with decorations for every occasion. The organization said it is grateful to have Jessie as part of its team.

Dr. Steve Dubey and staff at Natural Health Clinic in Lihu‘e are pleased to welcome Acupuncturist and Chinese Medical Practitioner Carrie Hodder, MAcOM. Natural Health Clinic has offered professional Natural Health Care for the people of Kaua‘i since 1981. It is staffed by Naturopathic Physicians, Drs. Steve Dubey, Miles Greenberg, Catherine Downey and Michael Ancharski. Educated at the nationally accredited Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine where she earned a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. This school’s rigorous clinical training, diverse faculty and heavy coursework in Chinese medical language lay a foundation firmly rooted in the East-Asian approach to medicine. Carrie blends acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and lifestyle counseling to assist the patient in cultivating internal balance and harmony.
In addition, Carrie is board certified in acupuncture and Chinese medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Carrie’s area of special expertise is women’s health, in the areas of obstetrics, reproductive health, and gynecological conditions. She is honored to have interned with many of Seattle’s prominent women’s health Chinese medical practitioners, including Dr. Kerong Xie of the Seattle Acupuncture and Herb Clinic and Dr. Weiqun Miao and Dr. Li Jin both faculty of SIOM. Carrie also excels in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and stress/emotional imbalances. Carrie performed medical acupuncture volunteer work with the Asian Counseling and Referral Service and the Evergreen Methadone Treatment Program.
Carrie received her undergraduate education at Bastyr University in Washington, completing the premedical curriculum with a major in Biology and Herbal Medicine. Natural Health Clinic will now offer Chinese Herbal Medicines at their office in Lihu‘e. In addition to her practice Carrie enjoys kayaking, watching the sunrise at the beach, and gardening. Carrie is a student of Vipassana meditation and Ashtanga yoga.
