LIHUE — Mayor-Elect Derek Kawakami has begun the transition process to assume leadership of county government on Dec. 3.
The Kawakami transition team is looking to fill appointed positions throughout the county administration.
“The people of this great county have entrusted me with the responsibility of leading their government and it is my expectation to have this transition of leadership be as orderly and seamless as possible,” Kawakami said. “I am looking for leaders that are ready for the challenge of public service and engaging in the hard work of moving our community into the future.”
Those interested in serving with the next administration should refer to the transition team’s website at bit.ly/2zF6RqG for the latest information. Individuals should be prepared to complete an online questionnaire and digitally upload a resume using the instructions on the website. Forms must be submitted electronically by Wednesday, Nov. 14.
