LIHUE – The hiring of a contract auditor to audit county accounts and funds is on the agenda for the County Committee meeting Wednesday.
The purpose of the ordinance states the County Charter requires independent audits of all county funds and accounts.
The council will consider authorizing services of a certified public accountant or firm of certified public accountants to conduct the audits.
The ordinance was introduced by Council Chair Mel Rapozo.
The meeting is 8:30 a.m. at the Historic County Building.
Better late than never. Thank you Mel Rapozo. A firm of CPA’s would be the better choice. Less chance of cronyism. It should be a full review with recommendations for improvement. Too bad it won’t be done till after the elections.
