LIHUE — County Council incumbents were poised to easily move on to November’s general election, holding four of the top five spots with all 16 precincts reporting in Saturday’s primary election.
The top 14 finishers will be on the general election ballot, with 10 eliminated.
Councilmember Arryl Kaneshiro was the top vote-getter with 8,594 votes, followed by fellow incumbents Mason Chock, 8,128 and Ross Kawaga, 7,765. Next was Luke Evslin with 6,894, councilman Arthur Brun received 6,427 votes, former Councilmember KipuKai Kualii, 6,299, Felicia Cowden, 4,175, followed by Norma Doctor Sparks, 4,068. Next was Billy DeCosta, 3,992, Juno Ann Apalla, 3,975, Shaylene Iseri, 3,712, followed by Milo Spindt, 3,469, Kanoe Ahuna, 2,982 and Adam Roversi, 2,802.
Candidates finishing out of the top 14 were Richard Fukushima,1,883,Ted Daligdig III,1,678, Wally Nishimura,1,723, Shirley Simbre-Medeiros, 1,624, Victoria Franks, 1,400, Harold Vidinha, 1,296, Roy Saito, 1,149, Nelson Mukai, 1,139, Dom Acain, 965, and Cecilia Napohaku-Hoffman, 713.
How quick Kauai voters forget…. 3710??? This woman cost tax payers more than 375,000 (that is public record) for her bigotry and belief she is above the law, even though she swore to uphold the law as the prosecuting attorney…. How can more than 3700 people cast that vote in good conscious? Please keep this racist liar out of office, Kauai and the taxpayers can not afford her….
