Absentee voting for North Shore
Absentee voting for North Shore
LIHUE — The Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division is initiating enhanced absentee mail voting services for registered voters of the North Shore directly impacted by the April flooding.
Due to the ongoing recovery efforts and restricted routes of travel from Wainiha to Haena, registered voters residing inside the security checkpoint will be mailed information on the upcoming primary election and an absentee ballot application, and are encouraged to complete and submit the application as soon as possible.
Absentee ballot applications will also be available at the security checkpoints and at the Hanalei Colony Resort.
Additionally, anyone with a valid Hawaii driver’s license or Hawaii state identification card can register to vote and apply for a ballot via the online voter registration system at www.hawaii.gov/elections.
Voters residing inside the security checkpoints will be able to pick up their absentee ballots on July 20 at the Hanalei Colony Resort, if they submit an absentee ballot application to the Elections Division by July 6.
The primary election is on Aug. 11.
