KAHUKU — In the wake of the Kauai floods and volcanic activity on Hawaii Island, Kahuku Medical Center has raised $15,000 for the American Red Cross of Hawaii to support disaster relief efforts and those affected by recent natural disasters.
“As part of Hospital Week, our staff wanted to support our Neighbor Island ohana and raised funds through cash contributions, payroll deductions, and even vacation donations,” said Kahuku Medical Center CEO Alan MacPhee. “The hospital administration was so impressed with their generosity of spirit that we committed to match the employees’ donations dollar for dollar.” KMC employees raised $7,500 and the hospital contributed a matching amount.
