The all-day celebration will include a noon farm harvest, pule and grinds at 6 p.m., and music and deejays throughout the day until midnight.
Presented by Aina Allies, the benefit event for Kekahu Kauai Community Radio (KKCR) — themed “Bridging the Gap Between Cultures” — will feature the international hip-hop stylings of DJ Darek Mazzone from Seattle radio station KEXP.
“When vibration becomes a universal language, the ‘get down’ feeling creates a true symbiosis,” Mazzone added. “It’s one of the most potent experiences people can feel, and I’m honored in helping make that happen Friday night up in Papaa.”
Tickets are available at Small Town Coffee in the Red Bus located in the Kojima’s parking lot in Kapaa. The cost is $20 in advance and $30 at the door, while keiki under 16 are free.
