LIHUE — Thursday marks the first anniversary of the National Vietnam War Veterans Day, and the Kauai Vet Center will host a 10:30 a.m. gathering to observe the event at its office, 4485 Pahee Street, Lihue, adjacent to the Gather Federal Credit Union.
“This is the first time we’re doing this after President Donald Trump signed the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 on March 28, 2017,” said Ed Kawamura, a Veteran Helping Veteran and the past commandant of the Kauai Veterans Council. “This act recognizes March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day, and this is a good time to recognize Kauai’s Vietnam War veterans.”
Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
