WAIMEA — For those interested in emergency preparedness, the topic will be discussed Monday, March 19, at the Waimea Public Library.
Speakers from the Kauai Emergency Management Agency will present recommendations for residents to prepare for all potential hazards. They will discuss how to survive a hurricane and tsunami, as well as what to do in the unlikely case of a ballistic missile attack.
Staff at the Kauai Emergency Management Agency have been trained by representatives of the United States military, and staff from nuclear science laboratories.
There will be a question and answer session following their 6 p.m. presentation.
I don’t know about you, but I am sure happy that such an important meeting is being held away from the large (?), well for Kauai anyway, population centers, so that parking and seating won’t be a problem.
Maybe they could video it and show it later on HOIKE. With newspaper announcement of showing times.
Mahalo,
Charlie
