In response to Saturday’s frightening experience for people in Hawaii of a false missile alert, one Hawaii resident is calling for 38 minutes of peace at 8 a.m. this Saturday. The goal is to seek immediate shelter in love and compassion.
“We’re inviting people to stop and focus on creating peace within themselves, in their homes and for the world,” said Najda Maria.
Some may take the time to hug their loved ones, another to swim in the ocean, pray, sing, dance, or tell someone you love them.
“The moment is upon us to take refuge in compassion for each other, in the midst of this spectacular, fragile life we live,” Maria said in a press release. “To declare to all the world that peace is the only answer.”
The false ballistic missile alert, she said, awakened deepest fears.
“The scariest and darkest moments of life for too many have woken us up to the need to declare to the world, peace is the only answer,” Maria said.
Maria hopes 38 minutes of peace could be an end to war.
“It is an opportunity to move from a passive desire, to a passionate and committed dedication to peace,” she said.
