A dare to show he cares
I am really quite illiterate
But someone made a dare
So I composed this poem
Because I truly, truly care.
I am having a little trouble
Sleeping through the night
Just the thought of the Dairy Farm
Is causing me great fright.
When you think of our beautiful Island
Does a Dairy Farm come to mind?
I have to think in all honesty
It would be at the end of the line.
Having thought about the Dairy Farm
Whether it is good or bad
It seems to be about money
And to me that’s very sad.
It never ceases to amaze me
That the people who live far away
Always know what is best
For those of us who stay.
If you were to ask the question
Where do the billionaires live now?
I would be willing to bet
That it’s not too close to cows.
When thinking about decisions
Affecting Kauai’s environment and beauty
It’s definitely a “no-brainer”
Our representatives have a duty.
As far as the Dairy Farms concerned
I hope you will understand
I am not against the farmers
But I feel God has a plan.
Let’s put things in perspective
Regarding the Dairy Farm
If things did not go well
It would cause a lot of harm.
Can you imagine the legacy
That you would leave behind
If you were to vote yes
They would say “you lost your mind.”
When you look at the possible downside
A “yes vote” would definitely be wrong
And I am certainly surprised
That the decision has taken so long.
If we were to rate our Paradise
It would be a “10 Plus”
And to keep it the way it is
Is definitely a must.
