Many questions have been raised since Hawaii Dairy Farm’s announcement about their proposed grass-fed dairy located on 582 acres in Mahaulepu.
To provide some facts, the Kauai Planning and Action Alliance will present “Got Milk?” from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Kauai Community College, Tech 114.
“This session offers a great opportunity to determine how this dairy meets Kauai’s needs for greater food self-sufficiency, new living wage jobs and environmental protection,” said Diane Zachary, KPAA’s president and CEO. “The meeting will include an opportunity for questions from the audience.”
Speakers will be Jim Garmatz, dairy manager and Amy Hennessey, communications director. The 1,800-cow dairy has an approved conservation plan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.
RSVP is required by Wednesday by emailing kpaa@kauainetwork.org or calling 632-2005.
